The only HEPA claim that matches the standard

True HEPA means 99.97 per cent at 0.3 microns. That is the definition, and this is the only listing on this shelf that publishes the number alongside the name.

One unit here says True HEPA and then gives 98 per cent. Another names a G4 cotton filter at 90 per cent of dust, which is a coarse pre-filter class and not HEPA at all.

All three are quoted as published. Only one of them is self-consistent.

And the only certifications

ETL and CARB. On a device that runs unattended in a damp room with water in it, that is worth more than a color-changing night light — and it is the only such claim on this shelf.

The questions that keep coming up

Is 99.97 per cent different from "up to 98 per cent"?

Yes, and it is the difference between the standard and an approximation. True HEPA is defined as 99.97 per cent at 0.3 microns. This listing states that figure; another unit on this shelf says True HEPA and then "up to 98% of fine PM2.5", and a third names a G4 cotton filter at 90 per cent of dust. Only one of the three matches the standard it invokes.

Why does it claim less area than a weaker unit?

Nothing explains it. This one removes 750 ml a day and claims 200 square feet; the Hoomace here removes 350 ml and claims 260. On the published numbers, this is the conservative claim on this shelf, and conservative claims are usually the ones that hold up.

What is Peltier technology?

Thermoelectric cooling with no compressor: quiet, small, and far less powerful than a compressor dehumidifier. It is why the extraction figures on this shelf are in hundreds of milliliters rather than in pints, and two units here name it.
