The only temperature on the shelf

One hundred and sixty-four to one hundred and seventy degrees Celsius.

Every hose here carries hot exhaust air for hours a day. Five of the six say nothing about how much heat the plastic will take; this one puts a number on it, and the number is comfortably above anything a portable air conditioner will produce.

Short, and that is not a fault

Eleven inches retracted is the tightest on this shelf. Fifty-nine extended is the shortest reach.

For efficiency, short wins: a long hose sheds the heat it is supposed to be removing back into the room it came from. The only reason to want eighty inches is a machine that cannot sit near the window.

The questions that keep coming up

Why does a temperature rating matter?

Because the hose carries the heat the machine has just removed from the room, continuously, for whole summers. A rating of 164 to 170 °C (327 to 338 °F) is far above what a portable air conditioner produces, which is the point: it means the plastic is not working near its limit. No other hose on this shelf publishes one.

Is 59 inches enough?

It depends how far the machine sits from the window. Four hoses here reach 80 inches; this one reaches 59 and retracts to 11, which is tighter than any of them. Short and tight is better for efficiency — a long hose radiates the heat back into the room.

Do I need to buy a coupler too?

If yours is missing, yes. The listing says twice that only the hose is included. Two products on this shelf state it in capitals and the rest say nothing either way.
