Cecotec

The entry-price option in three families — with real gaps in what it publishes

Cecotec appears in three families here: evaporative air coolers, dehumidifiers, and pedestal & tower fans.

What we found writing the reviews

A genuinely low-power motor, with real gaps around it. The EnergySilence 5000 cooler runs a 28 W DC motor across 12 speeds — unusually fine control for its price — but publishes neither an airflow (m³/h) figure nor a noise (dB) rating, so its actual strength and audibility can’t be checked against rivals.

A listing that shows the wrong product on two markets. The same EnergySilence 5000 ASIN displays a different, smaller 3.5 L manual-control variant’s description on Amazon’s French and UK catalogs — we built our review from the German, Italian and Spanish listings, where the 5 L specification is consistent, and flagged the mismatch rather than picking silently.

The smallest dehumidifier in its family, honestly sized. The BigDry 2000 is rated at just 300 ml extracted per 24 hours — a wardrobe or caravan appliance, not a room-by-room one — and Cecotec doesn’t oversell it with an ambiguous room-size claim beyond the stated 20 m².

  • Cecotec BigDry 2000

    300 ml/24h · 0.6 L tank · up to 20 m (66 ft)²

A compact, low-power dehumidifier rated by Cecotec at 300 ml of water removed per 24 hours, for rooms up to 20 m (66 ft)². A removable 0.6 L tank, automatic shutoff when full, a carry handle and a minimum stated consumption of 23 W make it a light standby unit rather than a room-by-room appliance.

Best for: A single small room, a wardrobe, a caravan or a car — somewhere a cheap standby unit against light condensation is enough, not a damp cellar or a family bathroom.

  • Cecotec EnergySilence 5000 Cool Wave (08199)

    5 L tank · 28 W DC motor · 12 speeds

A compact evaporative cooler built around a 28 W DC motor and a 5 L tank. Cecotec publishes 12 fan speeds, three ventilation modes (Normal, Nature, Sleep), 360° oscillation, a 9-hour timer, and both a remote control and a touch-and-LED display panel.

Best for: A single bedroom or home office in a dry or moderate climate, for someone who wants fine speed control rather than raw airflow.

  • Cecotec EnergySilence 790 Skyline

    50 W · 76 cm (29.9 in) · copper motor · 3 speeds, mechanical dial

A straightforward 50 W tower fan, 76 cm (29.9 in) tall, with mechanical (button/dial) control rather than a remote. Cecotec names the motor explicitly — 100% copper, branded 'CooperEngine' on its German and Italian listings — pairs it with a stated thermal-safety cutoff, and gives 3 speeds and a timer of up to 2 hours.

Best for: Someone who wants a plain, inexpensive tower fan with a dial and three speeds, and no app or remote to manage.
