  • Lists its supported and unsupported terminals by name, which no other thermostat on this shelf does
  • Publishes an accuracy figure and its own dimensions, both of which most of this shelf omits
  • C-wire required and no battery fallback at all — the most restrictive power requirement on this shelf

Best for: A single-stage forced-air system with a common wire, where seven-day programming matters more than a degree of accuracy

What the maker puts in writing

  • Single stage, 1 heat / 1 cool · C-wire required, no battery option
  • Terminals: RH, RC, W, Y, G, C — not W2, Y2, O/B, E, L, AUX, ACC, S, X, X2
  • Not for multi-stage, heat pumps, heat-only, cool-only, 120–240 V, PTACs, mini splits or RV units
  • 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only, stated twice · 7-day programming
  • Accurate within 2 °F · 0.98 × 4.72 × 3.86 in

The terminal list is the best thing here

Six supported wires named, eleven unsupported ones named. Unscrew the old thermostat, read the labels, decide in thirty seconds.

Eight other thermostats on this shelf describe system types instead — forced air, hot water, heat pump — which is a translation step this listing skips entirely.

And the accuracy, which runs the wrong way

Two degrees Fahrenheit. The same brand’s non-programmable thermostat on this shelf publishes one degree, at roughly half the price.

Both numbers are published. The cheaper thermostat is the more precise one, and nothing in either listing accounts for it.

The questions that keep coming up

Why is the Wi-Fi model less accurate than the cheap one?

Nothing in either listing explains it. riseem publishes ±1 °F on the S3001 non-programmable at 26.99 dollars and ±2 °F on this Wi-Fi model at 49.99. Both figures are the maker’s own, and the cheaper one is the tighter.

What does the terminal list tell me?

Everything. RH, RC, W, Y, G and C are the six wires it drives; W2, Y2, O/B, E, L, AUX and the rest are the ones it does not. Take the cover off the old thermostat, count the labeled wires, and the answer is immediate. No other thermostat on this shelf publishes this.

Will it work without a C-wire?

No. The listing says the common wire is a must and that it cannot run on batteries. Three thermostats on this shelf work without one on most systems, and two of those cost less.
