  • The only thermostat on this shelf that publishes a swing range — 0.2 to 2 °F — which is the setting that governs how evenly the house is heated
  • A selectable five-minute compressor delay, which protects an air conditioner from short-cycling and which nothing else here publishes
  • Non-programmable: no schedule, no app, no voice

Best for: A single-stage system where the owner wants to tune the cycle rate and protect the compressor

What the maker puts in writing

  • Single stage, up to 1 heat and 1 cool
  • 24 V AC or 2 AAA cells; no C-wire on most systems
  • Swing 0.2 °F to 2 °F, separately for heating and cooling
  • 5-minute compressor delay, selectable on or off
  • ±1 °F with calibration · display 41–95 °F · control 44–90 °F · 2-year warranty

Two settings nobody else publishes

The swing decides how evenly the house is held. The compressor delay decides how long the air conditioner lasts.

Nine thermostats on this shelf, and one of them puts numbers on both — at the bottom of the shelf by price, with no app and no schedule.

The incompatibility list is unusually specific

PTACs, 3-wire hydronic, dual fuel, mini splits, and RV air conditioners in the Mach and Roughneck series by name.

That last one is the giveaway of a listing written by someone who has handled the returns.

The questions that keep coming up

What does a 0.2 °F swing do?

It makes the system restart almost as soon as the room drifts, which keeps the temperature very even and cycles the equipment often. A 2 °F swing is the opposite: fewer cycles, a noticeably less steady room. Being able to choose is unusual, and this is the only thermostat on this shelf that publishes the range.

Why a five-minute compressor delay?

An air conditioner compressor restarted against residual pressure wears out. Five minutes lets it equalize. Every system should have it; this is the only thermostat on this shelf that says it does, and the only one that lets you switch it off.

How does it compare with the riseem at the same price?

The core figures match exactly — ±1 °F, 41 to 95 °F display, 44 to 90 °F control, two years of warranty, the same 2-to-5-wire note. This one adds the swing range and the compressor delay; the riseem adds a list of compatible systems and takes AA cells instead of AAA.
