By the fixing. This one uses four elastic ropes with metal hooks; the COVERTIFY integrates its hooks into the cover and offers five sizes. Both are polyester or resin mesh at the same price. If wind is the problem, four tensioned ropes is the more positive answer.

Does it keep animals out?

The listing names small animals among leaves, snow and dust. A mesh over the top is a real deterrent to a squirrel nesting in a fan housing, which is a common and expensive problem.
