Where the Hama remote in this hub ships pre-set for a handful of named brands, the Metronic 495348 is built around a printed code booklet Metronic states covers roughly 100 air conditioner brands — Carrier, Daikin, LG, Samsung, Johnson, Panasonic, Mitsubishi, Funai and Fujitsu among the names it gives. Setup runs one of two ways: an automatic search that steps through codes until the unit responds, or entering a specific code from the booklet if the brand and model are known in advance.

Five modes, a timer, two quick buttons

Beyond the standard auto/cool/heat/dehumidify/fan modes, Metronic adds dedicated QuickCool and QuickHeat buttons and a programmable TIMER ON / TIMER OFF function, on a remote it lists at 16.5 × 5.5 × 2 cm with a large LCD.

The list is broad, but still a list

A universal remote’s value lives entirely in whether the buyer’s exact model is on the code sheet — and that isn’t something a product listing settles from the outside. None of the roughly 100 brands Metronic names in its own copy match the portable air conditioners reviewed on this site (the Dreo AC318S, Gymax KU65297IJ-BMDE, Okyuk SKYR-1A07, or Temprium YPK11S-07C/3-W), so we’re not claiming a fit for any of them. Anyone considering this remote for one of those units, or any other, should check the printed code list — or Metronic’s own support materials — against the exact brand and model before buying.

Where we found it in stock

We checked Amazon.de, .fr, .it, .es, .co.uk and .com. ASIN B098BNRJY9 carried a live offer on the first four, under the identical EAN (3420744953481) throughout, at prices from about 12 € (FR) to around 13 € (ES). The same EAN matches a listing on Amazon.co.uk, but it carried no current live offer at the time we checked, and we found no ASIN at all on Amazon.com (US).
