Pre-programmed, not a code list

Hama’s 00221040 skips the step several universal remotes in this hub require: searching for or typing in a numeric brand code. It ships already set for what Hama calls common brands and devices, naming Daikin, Mitsubishi, Panasonic, LG and Samsung among others in its own listing. If your air conditioner is one of the named brands, there’s no setup step at all. Hama does not publish a longer list beyond the names it gives, so a brand it doesn’t mention can’t be confirmed as covered from the listing alone.

Timer, backlight, wall mount

The remote adds a backlit LCD for use in a dark room, and a built-in timer that switches the connected unit off automatically after a preset period rather than leaving it to run indefinitely. It comes with a wall-mount holder and two screws, plus the two AAA batteries it needs, so nothing extra has to be bought to get it working.

Where it doesn’t reach

None of the pre-programmed brands Hama names match the portable air conditioners reviewed on this site — the Dreo AC318S, Gymax KU65297IJ-BMDE, Okyuk SKYR-1A07 and Temprium YPK11S-07C/3-W are all brands outside Hama’s named list. That doesn’t rule out compatibility, since Hama’s copy doesn’t claim to be exhaustive, but it means we can’t confirm a fit for any unit reviewed on this site from the listing alone. Anyone buying this remote for one of those four units should treat it as unconfirmed rather than assumed.

ASIN B0DQ1NGJ99 carried a live offer on all six, under the identical EAN (4047443532305) throughout — the only one of the three remotes in this hub confirmed on every market we checked.
